This Week for our #InTheFightForRapha we want to introduce you to our friend and supporter Brad!
When I was a junior in high school, I was introduced to the ministry of Rapha House through the movie “Baht.” That movie began a long personal journey toward the realization that there was something I could do to help bring an end to the global problem of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. The next step in that journey was a chance to visit Rapha’s safe houses in Cambodia.
A group of students from my college witnessed firsthand the effectiveness of their ministry. It is surreal to leave the chaos of Cambodia’s cities and go behind a wall to a place that is safe, peaceful, and full of the sounds of joy and laughter. When we got home, we decided we were going to do something about what we experienced in Cambodia. We were ultimately able to secure the financial commitments to open a brand-new Rapha safe house in Haiti.
Now, five years later, I work for a phenomenal church that allows me to travel and educate other churches about the ministry of Rapha House, and how they also can help bring an end to human trafficking and sexual exploitation. My encouragement to anyone who wants to be in the fight for Rapha House is that if a bunch of college kids can raise over $400,000 to open a safe house, then there are gifts, talents, and resources that you can use to make a real, lasting impact in the lives of some precious girls who are in desperate need of healing.
